A more personal poetry
I am starting a poetry revolution. Poems relate to people in such a passionate and emotional way. This is why poets like Shakespeare, Alfred, Lord Tennyson and Edgar Allan Poe are famous--because of their ability to connect with human spirit. That's why their pieces are timeless. My kind of poetry connects to the every John and Mary--I use the person's very name in constructing a poem. Or a poem based on a particular word, such as SOLITUDE, and weave a series of prose that best evoke that word. Call it a custom-poem; call it a name or acrostic poem as this type of poetry is popularly called. Here is an example: S ailing alone in this empty world O ut in Hades where love is untold L ost forever in deep misery I mprisoned in the gates of eternity T o hope for vain, lonesome dreams U ttering wishes of love unseen D own in this life of heavy load E nduring the woes of solitude
